Weekly Supt. Update with reminders on key dates

Weekly Supt. Update with key dates, COVID case update
Posted on 06/11/2021

Greetings Families,

The finish line is in sight. It has been so refreshing this week to see our students outside enjoying the weather on playgrounds, participating in “Sports Days” at our elementary schools and our high school athletes competing in athletics. Thanks to the hard work of our staff, we have some traditional-yet-tweaked events and celebrations set up for next week and beyond. A few quick reminders:

  • The final day of school for K-6 students is Wednesday, June 23.
  • The final day of classes for grades 9-12 Gold Cohort is Friday, June 18 and the for the Blue Cohort it’s Monday, June 21st.
  • The final day for classes for grades 7-8 Blue Cohort is Monday, June 21st and Gold Cohort Tuesday, June 22nd.
  • The “Car Parade” featuring the Class of 2021, a new tradition started last year, starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25th. We’ll share the parade route with you before it happens so you can help salute our seniors.

There is also an outdoor event scheduled for 6 p.m. next Friday, June 18th at the Town of Irondequoit campus in honor of Juneteenth. The evening includes music, food trucks, crafts and more! It’s FREE, too! Please check out the flyer attached to this email to find out more.

Since our last communication a week ago on June 4, the Monroe County Dept. of Public Health has reported four new cases in our District, two students at Dake Junior High School, one each at Rogers and at Iroquois middle schools. Per federal privacy laws, we can’t disclose any more details or personally identifiable information. If you have questions, call the MCDPH Hotline at 753-5555.

In partnership,
