After serving as Interim Assistant Principal at Irondequoit High School last year, Ms. Casey Nelan has been appointed to the position full-time. She will again focus on Grades 10 and 12.

“Ms. Nelan showed tremendous enthusiasm and leadership in serving our students during such challenging times last school year,” Superintendent, Dr. Aaron Johnson, said. “I am delighted that she will be continuing in this important role.”

The Bloomfield native has worked in the district for 20 years, starting at Dake Jr. High School (six years) and then teaching at IHS after that. She taught English (7-12), served as the English Contact Teacher, Summer School Principal and as a substitute in the Advanced Placement office. Ms. Nelan holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Nazareth College and a Master’s in Liberal Arts from SUNY Brockport as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study.

Ms. Nelan, who lives in Webster, joins Ms. Barb Harford and Mrs. Amy Donk (formerly Vandergrift) as APs with third-year Principal, Ms. Alecia Zipp-McLaughlin.
