Ms. Maryanne Heiman is the new Principal of Dake Junior High School.

The West Irondequoit Central School District approved the appointment of Ms. Heiman at Thursday’s Board of Education meeting. She succeeds Mrs. Michelle Cramer, who was appointed the District’s Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources earlier this year.

“Through a comprehensive screening process, Ms. Heiman’s skills, knowledge and personality emerged as the person to lead Dake into its next chapter,” said WICSD Superintendent, Dr. Aaron Johnson.

Ms. Heiman has served as Assistant Principal at Dake (grades 7-8) for the past three school years. Prior to that, the Geneseo State graduate worked in the Rochester City School District from 2006-17 first as an elementary teacher and then as an instructional coach in mathematics (grades K-8). A Long Island native, Ms. Heiman owns a Master’s degree in Brockport in Education and Human Development. She also earned her K-12 Educational Leadership Certification through the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education.
