Details on Strategic Plan survey & Focus Groups

Invite to take Strategic Plan survey & for May 4th Focus Groups
Posted on 04/14/2021

Dear Families:

We know this letter comes at a time when reopening schools is on everyone’s mind. Please indulge us with a little more of your valuable time for a different and important survey. West Irondequoit has partnered with the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education to create a Strategic Plan that will guide the district’s work in the years to come. A UR team member spent significant time analyzing our systems, beliefs, values and data over the past several months and will present findings in a report to our Strategic Planning Council.

Now, it’s your turn.

We are asking the community to provide critical feedback via a survey and consider being part of a Focus Group meeting at 5:30 p.m. OR 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4th. Your input will help the UR team assess perceptions of our district’s strengths and weaknesses. Access the anonymous survey via the link we emailed to you on April 14. It closes on April 28. Information collected from our multiple Focus Groups is confidential, but please know that you will be in a room (Zoom or in-person) with a small group of people (physically distanced) and a UR facilitator will pose questions and ask for answers.

Focus Group meeting details

  • Date: Tuesday, May 4th
  • Times: 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. (each meeting is one hour)
  • Register: By emailing the address we sent you on April 14th
  • Which one? Indicate which time slot and whether you prefer to attend via Zoom or in-person at District Office, 321 List Ave. Space is limited for each.

If you have questions about any of this or want more details on the Focus Groups, do not hesitate to contact me. I also encourage you to WATCH THIS VIDEO in which I explain the “how and why” behind this initiative. Thank you, in advance, for your unwavering partnership. I know our community will help us continue to provide a comprehensive education and the right environment for your children to reach their own peak performance.

In partnership,
