West Irondequoit is using the Raptor Visitor Management system to add another layer of District-wide building safety. Raptor allows us to screen visitors and provide an even safer environment for students and staff. It identifies anyone on a sex-offender registry and allows schools to customize databases for parental custody alerts and/or banned visitors. Raptor flags them before entry. We know this is new for our community, so we appreciate your patience and cooperation working with our staff.

  • To enter any building during designated school hours, visitors must show government-issued photo identification.
  • IDs that will work: state licenses, active military cards, green cards and passport cards (not the full passport).
  • Once cleared, a visitor badge is produced that includes a photo.
  • Visitors must wear/display the badge so it is easily recognizable.
  • Badges enable our staff to quickly determine if visitors are in areas where they should (or should not) be.
  • Once an ID has been scanned, it is in our system and does not need to be scanned again. However, visitors will still need to show their ID.
