Attention Parents: New Summer Laptop Agreement

New Summer Laptop Agreement
Posted on 06/20/2019

NOTE: Students who have not submitted an updated form must turn in their laptops in the IHS Library Tech Room by 3 p.m. JUNE 25.

Dear Parents and Guardians of Irondequoit High School students:

Following a successful roll-out of individual laptops to our 9th and 10th graders, we are pleased to announce that these students may take their devices home over summer break. This follows requests from faculty and staff to allow students year-round access to their computers.

Parents must sign the IHS Laptop User Agreement in order for students to take advantage of this opportunity. Students who leave the District over the summer are required to turn in their laptop before transferring enrollment.

This is a separate agreement compared to the one parents were provided in the fall. It updates our expectations for the District and students, and extends the agreement period to cover the student’s entire enrollment at IHS. Parents and guardians who sign this agreement will not have to sign updated agreements in future years.

In addition, parents and guardians enrolled in the optional laptop protection plan will have coverage extended, at no additional cost, through the summer, ending September 10, 2019. Details about the laptop protection plan for academic year 2019-2020 will be communicated prior to Sept. 10. Summer technology support information will be posted on the district web page prior to July 1.

SUMMARY: Students currently in 9th and 10th grade will be permitted to take their laptops home with them over summer vacation. The updated parent agreement must be signed to extend the terms of the student/parent/district agreement.
