IHS student newspaper, literary magazine win state press awards!

Irondequoit High School's student newspaper, Rodequoit, and its literary magazine, Chickenscratch, along with several students, have earned top awards from the Empire State Scholastic Press Association.
IHS students from Mr. Kunz's journalism class and the newspaper and magazine received the honors on Friday at Syracuse University. They also attended classes ranging from editorial leadership, design, writing, photojournalism and reporting, all taught by professionals in the field. Earning multiple honors were Mary Rand, Owen Boice, Libby Bell and Fiona Mulrooney for Rodequoit and Louisa Weldy and Emily Sandford for Chickenscratch.
