Irondequoit High School Field Hockey Players Sign Letters of Intent February 5, 2009 |

Erica Garwood and Megan Leusch signed Division I Letters of Intent to play field hockey on Wednesday, February 4.
Erica will attend Division I Central Michigan University. She was a four year varsity starter and converted from forward to midfield her junior year. As captain this past season, Erica scored 16 goals, recorded 6 assists and shutdown multiple opponents as flyer on defensive corners. She earned 2nd team all county honors last year and earned 1st team all county, All Greater Rochester, All State and player of the year for Division II this year. Erica was also a Section V Exceptional Senior selection. This past summer she competed in the Empire State Games and is currently participating in the US Olympic Developmental Futures Program. Erica is a member of the Rochester Blizzards travel team and has participated in the National Field Hockey Festival. She also runs track.
Meghan will attend Division I Hofstra University. She was a four year varsity starting forward. As captain this past season, Meghan scored 15 goals and recorded 9 assists. She was a three time 1st team all county selection and was also named to All Greater Rochester, All State and Section V Exceptional Senior this year. Meghan is a two time Empire State Games participant and is currently participating in the US Olympic Developmental Futures Program. Meghan is a member of the Rochester Blizzards travel team and has participated in the National Field Hockey Festival.
This past season, the Irondequoit field hockey team advanced to its first ever appearance in the Sectional V Finals and recorded the program’s best record in history (14-3-2).
