West Irondequoit Central School District will continue to follow New York State law and our consistent district policy that protects all West Irondequoit students.
District Policy 3171 states:
The Board of Education prohibits harassment of anyone by anyone, as well as unlawful discrimination, on District grounds or at District-sponsored functions. Harassment involves hostile words or actions, including but not limited to bullying, taunting, and intimidation, that have the purpose or effect of interfering with an individual’s rights to learn, teach or otherwise function in the District or which may reasonably cause an individual to fear for his/her safety or well-being. This policy includes, but is not limited to, discrimination and harassment based on a person's actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or sex.
