The ceiling and lights are finished. Tiling of the pool deck is progressing as seen above. The windows will be installed soon. The final coating of the pool will be done in August and the pool will be filled with water. We are planning an opening celebration. Check back in the next couple of weeks for more details!!

June 10, 2009 The ceiling and lights are progressing. Tiling of the pool edge and lane lines is beginning. The storage area that will be under the bleachers is being erected. The officials' platform is also being erected.
May 4, 2009 The piping for the drains is being installed. The wiring for the office and lobby has begun. The gutters have been grouted and the last roof drains have been installed
April 2, 2009 The heating duct work and basement piping are being installed. The gunite forming of the pool is complete. The gutters have arrived.
February 5, 2009 The roof has been installed and we are able to heat the construction area. Crushed stone has been laid inside the building and the outline of the new pool is apparent. Masons are setting up scaffolding to begin installing the brick facade.
December 1, 2008 The roof trusses will arrive on December 2nd, around mid-day. They are 90+ feet long and will enter campus via Gardham Road. There will be no through traffic behind IHS on December 2nd and 3rd during the school day as the trusses are put in place. There will be through traffic at arrival and dismissal times.
October 28, 2008 Footings and foundation walls have been framed and poured. Masons will begin building cement block walls on the east and west sides of the project. Once these are complete, roof trusses will be set using a large crane. We anticipate setting the trusses on a Saturday late in November, access to the area behind IHS will be restricted that day. We expect to have the construction area covered before winter so that work may continue on the inside throughout the cold months.
September 3, 2008 Demolition of the old pool is almost complete. The fences have been moved to allow two-way traffic flow behind the high school. Parents are asked to exercise caution when driving through this area. Students may be picked up and dropped off only in the front and rear bus loops between Dake and IHS. August 13, 2008 A crane will be brought to the site this week to remove the roof trusses. Several of the tennis courts will be closed temporarily as work proceeds.
August 5, 2008 The outside wall has been taken down and the crews are preparing to remove the roof.
July 21, 2008 Asbestos removal at IHS is complete and demolition underneath the pool continues. We may see a hole in the outside wall of the building this week!
The electrical contractor is upgrading emergency lights and fire alarms in the high school.
Work on the parking lots continues.
