District Vote Overview

The Board of Education will adopt a proposed budget at their meeting on Thursday, April 24 / District Office / 7:00 p.m.

Copies of the proposed budget will be available May 6, 2014 at all district buildings and at the Irondequoit Public Library (Pauline Evans Branch on Cooper Rd.).

The annual District Vote is May 20. Residents are asked to vote on the District Budget, the Promise Project and for two seats on the Board of Education.

Information will be available on this Web site and in the district newsletter, The Quote, mailed to all residents.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers work three-hour shifts; no experience required!




SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION

There are two seats on the Board of Education (BOE) up for election in May 2014. Members of the seven person board serve three-year terms. BOE members are not paid for their service, they serve as volunteers.

Candidate petitions are available from the District office weekdays from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Candidate qualifications:

-must be a United States citizen;

-must be age 18 or older;

-must be able to read and write;

-must be and have been a resident of West Irondequoit for at least one year prior to election;

-cannot be a district employee;

-there is a limit of one family member on the BOE;

-may not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office;

-must not have been removed from district office within one year preceding election;

-must be a qualified voter of the district.

 

Petitions must be filed with District Clerk Patricia Kelly (585-336-2983) by Monday, April 21, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.
